POLICE OFFICER SHAVES HEAD FOR CHARITY
A STAFFORDSHIRE police officer is cutting off the hair he has spent seven years growing – to raise money in support of breast cancer sufferers.
Moorlands-born PC Rich Lymer, who works for the roads policing team, ties his 20 inch locks in a bun for work.
But the 39-year-old is shaving his head on May 22 to raise cash for the Stafford-based Katharine House Hospice, the Strongmen charity – which helps men cope with bereavement, and Mummy’s Star
– a charity which supports women diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy or within 12 months of giving birth.
Rich said: “Three of my colleagues from Staffordshire Police have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are at various points in their treatment. I have also had family and friends who have been affected by the illness and I just want to do something to help.”
