ALL THAT GLITTERS: BRITAIN’S NEXT JEWELLERY STAR

BBC2, 8pm

-

“Unlike cakes, jewellery lasts forever…” quips Katherine Ryan as the five remaining jewellers – Lee, Sonny, Dan, Hugo and Tamara (below) – face gold week.

For the Bestseller challenge the jewellers have to make a pair of identical hoop earrings that need to “sit beautifully and move freely”, according to jewellery designer and judge Solange Azagury-partridge.

Then for the Bespoke challenge, they meet Zeynap, who wants a gold locket to give to the woman who saved her mum’s life with a bone marrow transplant to treat her cancer. Zeynap says:

“I want a token, something that signifies new life, to tell her how much we appreciate her. My mum wouldn’t be here without her.”
