TEAGUE HITS THE TREBLE TRAIL TO AID CHEADLE SMU’S QUEST FOR GLORY IN THE OPENING EXCHANGES OF TROPHY

OLI Teague helped himself to a hat-trick in Cheadle SMU’S 4-2 victory over RC Greyhound in the Sam Kimberley Trophy.

Cheadle created early chances in the first-round tie, but spurned them against their Stafford League opponents before a great throughbal­l from Joel Hancock found Teague who rounded the keeper before opening the scoring.

Greyhound responded and created a couple of chances only to be denied by the home keeper.

Just before the half-hour good play between Teague and Josh Sale saw the latter turn and shoot into the corner for 2-0.

Greyhound were awarded a penalty on 32 minutes which they converted to reduce the arrears. Just four minutes later, however, and Cheadle restored their twogoal advantage with Teague again on target.

Just before the break the visitors were awarded another penalty, this time for handball and again it was converted making it 3-2 at the break.

Cheadle had the better of the second half and grabbed the all-important fourth goal from the penalty spot with Teague completing his hat-trick in the process.

Butt Lane White Star won 2-1 at Athletico 53.

Harry Hartley and Jordan Porter were on the mark for the winners, with James Makins replying.

Division Five Ball Green Vets beat Fourth Division white Hart Smallthorn­e 6-4.

Staffordsh­ire Vics ease past Burslem United Developmen­t sides 5-3. Jordan Smith bags a brace with other goals coming from Alex Browne, Simon Worthingto­n and Kamal Rasoul.

Division Five leaders FC Maybank beat Division Two Brown Edge 3-0 to make progress.

Matt Rogalski opened the scoring with his first goal since moving from Bignall End and the lead was doubled before half-time when a Billy Heeks effort was deflected past the keeper.

Rogalski added his second after the break to make it 3-0 to the hosts.

Division Three Mitchells are also through thanks to a 4-1 success at Division Five newcomers Foxley.

Taylor Atrell scored for the hosts, but a hat-trick from Sam Purcell and a James Axton strike saw the visitors home.

In the first round of the Tatters

Trophy, Shamblers beat AFC Wolstanton 7-1.

Shamblers set the tone for the game by scoring three times in the opening ten minutes of the game and although it stayed 3-0 at the break they ran out easy winners to make the last 16 in style.

Daniel Buxton hit a hat-trick with Miles Edie, Damien Coady, Tommy Lewis and Mile Steel all on target. Adam Hughes grabbed a consolatio­n for Wolstanton.

A late comeback from Bignall End forced extra time but Lambourne had the edge overall to win 6-4 in the Sentinel Cup first round.

They led 2-0 early on through Ben Lees and Harry Simon but the hosts pulled one back through Shane Williamson.

Josh Clayton made it 3-1 and the game looked over but for a late rally for Bignall End that saw them score through Elliot Spooner and Jon Hughes to force the extra 30 minutes.

Lambourne looked the stronger in extra time and added goals through Simon, Clayton and Ishmael Anderson with Ash

Humpage scoring for the home side but it was Lambourne’s day.

In the Premier Division, Crescent put a huge dent in the title aspiration­s of Greenhoffs with a 4-2 win.

Jake Alcock and Jord Flatley were on the scoresheet for the visitors but a brace by Kyle Johnson and strikes by Luke Lewis and Ryan James gave Crescent their third win of the season, but defeat leaves Greenhoffs trailing the leaders by seven points with a game in hand.

A Ryan Griffin hat-trick and a brace from Steve Davies saw Milton grab their second win of the campaign at the expense of Vale Hoppers who still await their first win as a Premier Division team.

The visitors certainly made a game of it at Wellbeing Park and scored through Harry Sidebottom, Jordan Smith and Ash Burton, but just came up short 5-3

An Owen Harrison hat-trick helped Knave of Clubs to open up a seven-point lead at the top of the table in a 4-0 win at Royle Street Rangers.

The in form Luke Bourne also scored as unbeaten Knave sit in position after seven games.

In Division One, the battle of the bottom two went Congress Town’s way as they won 3-0 at Cheshire Cheese.

Tom Miles, Dom Minshall and Tommy Smith were all on target for Congress who climb out of the relegation spots as a result.

Jolly Carter drop into the bottom two as they lost 4-0 at home to unbeaten Redgate.

Jordan Hall bagged a brace with Jack Finney and Mason Lovatt also on target for the visitors.

Railway hammered Wolstanton Social 5-0 to keep them on the heels of the promotion pack.

Tom Shea scored twice with Nathan Douglas, Oliver Haycock and James Mason all on target.

Moorlands Athletic made it five consecutiv­e league wins with a 5-1 success at The Clough.

Ethan Ansell scored the opener after eight minutes with Tyler Harrison doubling the advantage a couple of minutes later.

Danny Forrester made it 3-0 with Harrison’s second of the game coming just before the interval.

Daniel Johnson pulled a goal back for The Clough, but Mitchell Brown made it five before the visitors also missed a late penalty.

Moorlands’ impressive run has seen them move into the top two level on points with leaders Shamblers.

Adderley Green hit top spot in Division Two after a 4-1 success over struggling Queensberr­y.

Cheick Bamba, Ashley Moore, Soauleyman Soumare and Elisio Francisco all scored for the hosts with Callum Towey replying for the visitors who remain in the bottom two.

The points are shared at Mill Hayes between AFC Moorlands and Halmerend CIC.

Jono Glasby scored for the hosts who also benefitted from an own goal while veteran front-man Danny Meek and his City Of Stoke team-mate Jimmy Garlick were both on target for their Sunday side.

Stoke Town maintained their 100 per cent league record - and their miserly defence also kept another

clean sheet - in a 3-0 win over Coach & Horses.

Will Bossons gave the hosts the lead from a fine free-kick with Toby Bell making it 2-0 just before halftime from a corner.

There was still time for a first half penalty to be conceded and saved by Town keeper Damien Roden in a frantic end to the half.

Oliver Swann sealed the win as his shot through a crowd found the back of the net made it 3-0.

Fulford lost top spot following a 5-1 home defeat by Waterhouse­s.

Luke Burton scored for the hosts but strikes by Adam Taylor (2), Jake Gordon, Joe Asplin and Sam James gave Waterhouse­s a revenge win as they go within five points of top spot.

In Division Three, Breaks Athletic drew 1-1 at home with Jollees.

Oliver Slinn looked to have given the visitors all three points with a goal on 86 minutes only for Matt Cope to level in the dying seconds for Breaks.

Jollees drop to third place with Breaks finding themselves eight points clear of the drop zone.

Free-scoring leaders Congleton Town Colts had to withstand a firsthalf comeback by Black Cock, but eventually sealed a 9-3 win.

The hosts, on a run of five straight wins now, opened up a 3-0 lead in the first half through Josh Frith, Adam Frost and Elliot Dolman, but the visitors had levelled the match before the interval thanks to goals from Jack Robinson, Harjit Singh and Josh Barber.

It was one-way traffic after the break, though, as Colts racked up another six without reply.

Frith was on target again with Josh Potts hitting a second half brace. Sam Byram, Ross Quin

and Callum Lowe completed the scoring for Congleton who have now scored 37 goals in their seven league games so far and remain unbeaten.

Holditch Miners go back into second spot after a 4-0 win over Keele University who are still looking for their first points of the season.

Declan Sargeant scored twice with Joe Sargeant and Jon Gray also on target.

Royal Furlong are quietly gathering points without attracting too many headlines so far and wrapped another important win.

They beat Mossley Park Rangers by the odd goal in seven to stay six points off top spot, despite sitting in sixth spot.

The impressive Charlie Diskin was on target again today and he was joined by Olly Doorbar and Ryan Ball with an own goal also helping.

Alex Richardson scored twice for the hosts with Tommy Brookes also on target but the Mossley just fell short and stay fifth.

The Jug picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory at The Potter.

An even first half saw both sides create chances, but the Potter were wasteful in front of goal - where the visitors were less so.

Wing-back Dean Engleman opened the scoring as he was sent clear down the right-hand side by striker Dave Latham and finished well across the keeper with Leon

Heath making it 2-0 when he squeezed the ball between near post and keeper after good work down the left.

Potter hit the post and forced a couple of fine saves from Jug keeper Danny Butters.

The second half saw Potter make changes and they were immediatel­y more dangerous and always a threat from set-pieces.

The Jug made it 3-0 however after a superb lofted ball down the line by Adam Smith sent Leon Heath clear and hit a rasping shot into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Potter surged forward and started to dominate possession with the Jug dropping ever deeper. Sub Christian Hale grabbed a goal back with a good header from close range and Lewis Edge pulled it back to 3-2 as he smashed home a fine low cross from the right.

Potter continued their onslaught with the visitors still looking to catch their hosts on the break.

Jug held firm, but only just as a goal-line clearance from Elliot Lockett and a superb stop from Danny Butters as a volley from a corner was smashed goalward, kept the hosts from levelling the match.

In Division Four, Plaza won at Bradwell by the odd goal in seven to move into third place in the table.

Jack Damonjivic bagged a brace with Julian Cooke and Rob Mcaskill also on target.

Jaycee Roberts scored two of his own for Bradwell and Jordan Johnson scored to keep the game in the balance until the end.

Royal Oak never looked like losing their 100 per cent record as they dominated at Park Inn to win 4-1.

The visitors hit the crossbar early on and took the lead just after the half-hour when a block from the keeper was tapped home by Joe Bloor.

Just before half-time and the lead was increased when Jake Peake ran through unchalleng­ed to finish past the stranded keeper.

Park Inn made changes at half time but to no avail as Joe Bloor claimed his 2 nd of the game to make it 3-0.

Park Inn did pull one back after a fine strike by Ben Ray flew into the net but a late penalty by Kye Richardson seals the win and leaves Royal Oak three points behind the leaders with two games in hand.

Marquis stay top after running out 5-2 winners at Castle Mona.

Ross Robson and John Baker both score twice with Rob Hemmings also on target. Dan Mayer and Nath Warburton reply for the hosts but they stay just above the drop zone.

In Division Five, a late Dan Taylor penalty seals all three points for Crown Talke against Sumner Athletic.

Marcus Shaw opened the scoring for Crown, only for Tim Kirk to equalise with a fine curling shot into the far corner.

Kirk had earlier rattled the crossbar with a free-kick and was dangerous all game.

Dan Taylor converted the late penalty to seal all three points and the League double over Sumner.

FC Robin Hood beat Keele University thirds 5-2.

A shock looked on the cards early on as Keele raced into a two-goal lead with Tim Binns and a Marc Smith own goal giving Keele hope of a second successive win.

Robin Hood rallied however and pulled one back through Jamal Le Doux with Aiden Leech converting a penalty to make it 2-2.

The hosts started to take control of the game and Aiden Leech scored another two to complete his hat trick while Dominic Chevannes Ellis made it 5-2 late on to keep The Hood in the promotion race.

Roaring Meg closed the gap on the top two with a 2-0 win over Brindley’s Lock.

Ben Jackson and Tom Herus scoring the all important goals to keep Meg in touch at the top although they have played more games than the rest.
