POLICE PLEA AFTER MAN ‘HIT BY CAR’
A MAN in his 20s has been airlifted to hospital with ‘life-threatening’ injuries after being hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to the A523 through Rushton Spencer at 3.55pm on Sunday.
Police, paramedics and the air ambulance found a grey Audi A3 had been involved in a collision with a man in his 20s.
He is believed to have suffered ‘life-threatening head injuries’ and was taken to hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Audi remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries. According to witnesses, a black Volkswagen Golf was also seen in the area at the time of the collision.
Now police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage. Sergeant Richard Moors said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.” Police can be contacted on 101.
