Jeff Stelling has toasted his longtime Saturday afternoon companion as former Stoke City manager and player Chris Kamara announced he is to leave Sky Sports. The 64-year-old revealed he is fighting against a speech apraxia disorder related to a thyroid problem. Soccer Saturday presenter Stelling said: “The man is simply a genius. He’s a great friend. I am going to

miss him enormously and I know viewers at home will as well.” Kamara will still commentate on new ITV show The Games, which starts next month. He said in a statement: “I’ve spent 24 terrific years at Sky, and leave with the best of memories. My time on Soccer AM, Goals on Sunday and, of course, on Soccer Saturday with Jeff has been – to coin a phrase – unbelievab­le.”
