Police warning after man ‘pulls a machete on group of children’

POLICE were called after a man driving around in an Audi ‘pulled a machete on a group of children’.

Officers began a manhunt following the terrifying incident in Sneyd Green.

They reportedly told parents to keep their sons and daughters indoors as they scoured the Berwick Road area for ‘men with weapons’. But the suspects – said to be in a white Audi A4 – could not be located.

An investigat­ion into Sunday’s incident is today ongoing. A Staffordsh­ire Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 7.35pm on Sunday to a report of men with weapons in Berwick Road, Sneyd Green. Officers attended and carried out a thorough area search but were unable to locate them. Inquiries are ongoing.”

Warning residents on social media on Sunday night, one neighbour said: “There’s been an incident on Berwick Road where a man has pulled a machete on a group of kids. He’s driving around in a white Audi A4.

“The police have asked that all kids go home until they’ve found the man.”
