PRAISE FOR STAFFORDSHIRE DAY SUPPORTERS

COUNCILLORS have praised the thousands of people who helped to make this year’s Staffordshire Day celebrations a success.

More than 40 events included a film festival at Hanley’s Mitchell Arts Centre and an artisan market in Newcastle. More than 100 drawings and paintings have also gone on display across the county as part of the May 1 celebration.

Philip White, deputy leader of Staffordshire County Council said: “It was great to see so many people, attractions and organisations joining in the fun.”
