STOKE-ON-TRENT
POLICE are to review footage of two Port Vale games after disorder among fans broke out.
The footage was passed to officers during a meeting with Port Vale Supporters Club on Tuesday.
Trouble erupted following Vale’s home game against Oldham Athletic on April 9 and after their away match at Walsall on April 23.
A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer following the Oldham game.
The force was sent to Hamil Road, in Burslem – and the town centre – after a number of people were involved in public order offences, police assaults, setting off flares, and general anti-social behaviour.
Now Staffordshire Police say inquiries in relation to both fixtures are ongoing.
A spokesman said footage was handed to them at the fans’ meeting.
He added: “This has since been passed to the Senior Investigating Officer at Staffordshire Police and colleagues at West Midlands Police in order to review.”
