POLICE MAN, 23, KILLED IN HORROR CRASH

POLICE have named a 23-year-old man knocked down and killed in a horror crash.

Alec Heyworth was on the A523 at Rushton Spencer, near Leek, when he was struck by a vehicle.

He suffered life-threatening head injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the Royal Stoke

University Hospital the following day. Alec, lived in Smallwood, between Congleton and Sandbach.

A police spokesman said: “His family continue to be supported by speciallytrained officers and have asked for privacy at this difficult time.”

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses on 101.
