PEDESTRIAN, 24, DIES IN COLLISION

POLICE are appealing for the public’s help after a 24-year-old pedestrian died in a collision.

The man, who has not yet been named, was struck by a black Ford Fiesta on the A533 Sandbach Road in Rode Heath. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened at 11.40pm on Friday, near the junction with Keats Drive.

The family of the man, who is from the local area, are now being supported by specialist officers. Cheshire

Police today urged witnesses or anyone with video footage to come forward to help.

A 22-year-old local woman arrested in connection with the incident has now been released on conditional bail.

Detective Inspector Nigel Reid said: “I want to hear from anyone who was in the Sandbach Road area between 11pm and midnight on Friday and believes they may have seen the collision or seen anything unusual.” Information can be reported by calling 101.
