‘IT WAS STRESSFUL, ALL MY MATES HAD PAID MONEY’

-

A STAG party has been left £3,486 out of pocket - after falling victim to collapsed events company Stag and Hen City. Simon Jones and 13 of his friends had paid out £169 for accommodation and drinks after booking a package for a Newquay stag do on June 3.

But the 39-year-old - who is getting married in July - was told by the company last month that the booking had been cancelled.

Two days later, the company ceased trading - and the stag party’s money has still not been repaid. Now the group have re-booked their accommodation - and had to shell out an extra £80 each on top of the cost of their original booking.

Simon said: “It was really stressful for me because I was the one who booked it and all my mates had paid out the money. I haven’t been able to speak to anyone at the company, the only correspondence I’ve had is on Facebook Messenger. It’s very disappointing.”
