STOKE City chairman Peter Coates will officially open the brand new M Club Spa and Fitness.

Mr Coates - who is the co-founder of bet365 - will cut the ribbon and unveil a commemorative plaque at what is believed to be the biggest ever gym, spa and fitness centre built in Staffordshire.

The three-storey complex was part of a £12 million, 70,000 sq ft expansion of the Waterworld on Festival Park.

M Club opened to the public for the first time in October 2021, with more than 300 pieces of cutting-edge equipment including treadmills, cross trainers, a functional training zone and a free weights area, as well as an indoor pool and running track.

Now six months on, Mr Coates is visiting the Etruria site to declare it officially open.

The VIP ceremony is taking place at noon on Friday, May 27.

Mo Chaudry, owner and founder of

M Club, said: “We are delighted and honoured that Peter has agreed to perform our official opening.

“Not only is he Stoke-on-trent born-and-bred, but he is a hugely respected entrepreneur and businessman who has done incredible things for the area. This is the biggest single project I have ever done.

“I wanted to create the best gym in Staffordshire. It’s lovely to be involved in a business I’m so passionate about, and which improves people’s lifestyles.” Mo added: “Times have been tough for everyone, so it is nice to have been able to do something really positive like this for the people of Stoke-ontrent, creating jobs for local people in the process.”
