‘Thanks to party for their support’
I REFER to your ‘Big Issue’ article on the Newcastle elections (Sentinel, May 9).
It is incorrect to say I was deselected as the Thistleberry Liberal Democrat candidate in the borough elections held the previous week.
I chose to stand down due to other commitments.
I have always regarded it
as a privilege to serve the people of Thistleberry as their councillor, and have done so for more than 20 years.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all who have helped and supported me, not least the local Liberal Democrat party.
I will always hold the people I have served in high esteem and I take with me many happy memories.
I hope I have played my part in improving the lives of many people, and that the environment we live in is a safer and cleaner one.
I look forward to seeing more progress being made by my successors.
