NEW RECRUITS IN TRAINING WITH FIRE SERVICE
A NEW set of firefighters has joined the ranks of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Seven individuals are taking part in the National Firefighter Apprenticeship Programme.
They are carrying out a series of tasks required to pass training modules intended to give them the practical and technical skills needed to be a modern day firefighter.
These include hose and ladder use, breathing apparatus, hazardous materials, swift water and working at heights.
Station manager Lee Chevin said: “We are delighted to welcome these new recruits to Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. They are making great progress.”
Initial training is followed by a a presentation ceremony this summer. They will then be posted to a station to complete their apprenticeship.
