FLATS PLAN ON EMPTY LAND TURNED DOWN
PLANS for homes on an empty patch of land have been rejected.
City planners say the scheme, off Warrington Street, Fenton, would be ‘out of keeping’ with the area.
applicant David Pawley had hoped to put up five one-bedroom apartments on the site, and convert an existing building to provide one additional self-contained home.
But the council has ruled the proposal ‘represents an over-intensive form of development as it would fail to provide sufficient internal layouts in order to create a satisfactory living environment’ for future occupiers.
