THREE IN A ROW FOR DABBERS AFTER JARVIS’ SPARKLING TON

NANTWICH thirds continued their impressive start to life in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League with a resounding Division Eight home victory over Wedgwood seconds.

Richard Jarvis was the main man in the early stages of the afternoon as he constructe­d an unbeaten 134 as the Dabbers reached 220-5 from their 40 overs.

Jarvis hit 18 fours in his innings, receiving fine support from Jakob Jordan, who made 37. Gary Timmis took two wickets.

Dean Hughes replied with 37, but David Ferris (4-10) and Noah Birchall (3-5) dismissed the visitors for 63 to secure a third straight victory.

Fellow newcomers Market Drayton also have an unblemishe­d record after winning by four wickets at Crewe seconds.

Crewe took first use and were bowled out for 120, in which Tom Harding made 47 and Frazier Hoye chipped in with 24.

Jack Allman captured 3-15 and there were two victims for Mitch Fish.

Market Drayton crossed the line in the 31st over as Steve Whilde made 41 not out and Craig O’conner weighed in with 28.

Moddershal­l & Oulton sixths are the other side with a 100 per cent record in the division following their emphatic triumph at Oakamoor fourths.

Joseph Walley’s 3-2 was key to Oakamoor being dismissed for just 57, despite Charlie Allcock topscoring with 21.

Mick Walley’s 39 not out soon had the Modd men celebratin­g a comfortabl­e afternoon’s work.

Luke Walker and Arthur Wood were in fine form to inspire Oakamoor thirds to a five-wicket success at Cheadle fourths.

Walker and Wood picked up 4-21 and 4-22 respective­ly as Cheadle were bundled out for 65. Justin Welford led the resistance with an unbeaten 29.

Owen Turner took 4-28 after tea, but Jack Day (22), Walker (15) and Alex Gallagher (12no) made decisive contributi­ons with the bat.

Porthill Park fifths overcame a nervy moment to win by four wickets at home against Betley seconds.

Porthill Park were set 132 for victory, but despite Auyush Deshpande making 27, they slipped to 81-6.

However, Daniel Longworth (41no) and Nathan Hill (32no) kept cool heads to steer Porthill Park to their target.

Deshpande had earlier picked up 4-29 as Betley were bowled out for 131. James Hancock made 27.

Newcastle & Hartshill fourths won by four wickets at Sandbach thirds.

Sandbach put up a stern challenge as they reached 181 all out on the back of Edward Proudlove’s 42, Rhys Chambers’ 34, 33 from Callum Chambers and Tim Coppenhall’s 28.

Trevor Haire claimed 3-27 for Castle, with Tommy Pinnell and Theo Abel sharing four wickets.

Matilda Gater (49) and Nabil Fassaludhi­n (48) fronted the Castle reply, but despite two wickets apiece from Aiden Vickerstaf­f, Iliana Chatzigeor­giou and Rhys Chambers, Castle saw the job through.

Stafford fourths had a good day at the office as they defeated Church Eaton seconds.

Visitors Church Eaton were bowled out for 110 as Nithin Parambath claimed 3-16. Paul Brown made 28 and Michael trayte chipped in with 27.

Luke Jackson took 3-10 in reply, but Ieuan Crawshaw’s 39 not out and 23 from Joe Glayshier secured a threewicke­t win for the home side.

Whitmore thirds beat Hem Heath fourths in their encounter.

Dinesh Weerasingh­e Mudalige hit nine fours and one six in his 62 to help Whitmore to 178 all out. Oscar Bradshaw captured 3-11.

Darren Sanders (47), Nikita Sayer (28) and Chris Simpson (26) all made positive impacts on the resumption, but Hem Heath were restricted to 134-9 when stumps were drawn.

Mudalige completed a fine individual day with 4-20, while Priyankara Wijewickra­ma added 3-20.
