POLICE and paramedics were called out to a city street where a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses spotted patrol cars, forensics and paramedics on North Street, between Stoke and Hartshill.
West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed that sadly nothing could be done to save the man.
Meanwhile Staffordshire Police have said they are not treating the death as suspicious.
Residents reported seeing three police cars - along with forensics. Emergency services were called to the scene at just after 9am on Monday.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a medical emergency on North Street. On arrival we found a patient, a man. It quickly became clear nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed as deceased at the scene.”
A police spokeswoman said: “It is a nonsuspicious death”.
