DOUGIE MAC THANKS VOLUNTEERS FOR ‘HUGE CONTRIBUTION’

-

HOSPICE volunteers will have their ‘huge contribution’ recognised at a ‘thank you’ event.

The Douglas Macmillan Hospice is to celebrate their dedication to the cause at Hanley Park Pavilion Café, next month.

The Dougie Mac relies on almost 600 volunteers who regularly give their time to support its 20 shops and help at hospices in Blurton and Trentham, and in the community.

Head of volunteer services Deborah Vickers said: “This event is a thank you to all our volunteers for the fantastic contribution they make, a chance for us to show our appreciation for their continued hard work and the time they give. The commitment and support of our past, present and future volunteers is invaluable and absolutely vital to Dougie Mac’s continued success.

“They play such a huge role in the day to day running of the charity, we simply couldn’t do what we do without them.”

The thank you event will be Dougie Mac’s first volunteer celebration since before the pandemic and also since its landmark amalgamation with The Donna Louise.

The June 7 event will coincide with the annual Volunteers’ Week.
