FLATS AND SHOP PLAN FOR RUNDOWN HOUSE
A RUNDOWN property could be turned into two flats and a shop, if city planners give the go-ahead.
Developer Adam Salman wants to carry out the conversion on a house in Harding Road, Hanley. Now he has asked Stoke-on-trent City Council for permission to carry out the work.
Plans submitted for approval state that the property is currently uninhabitable.
They say it is in ‘a very poor state of repair’ and ‘requires a lot of work to get it to a liveable condition’. But the applicant says his proposed extension will add a living room to create a one-bedroom flat on the ground floor, with a new bedroom and bathroom making a two-bedroom flat on the first floor.
The plans add: “This will also allow two separate families to live within the property as this will form two separate accommodations.”
The council will make a decision on the application in due course.
