‘APPY’ DAYS FOR TAXI FIRM AFTER LINK-UP WITH UBER

UBER has launched a new ‘local cab’ service in Stoke-on-trent.

It gives customers the option to book a local taxi firm via the Uber app for the first time.

Local cab trips will be passed on to Autocab Private Hire and it is hoped the deal will make it quicker and easier for passengers to get around the city. The launch of the service in the Potteries follows previous launches in more than 40 locations across the UK.

The service is available for passengers now in the latest version of the Uber app, alongside regular Uber-operated options Uberx and Uberxl.

Waqas Yaqub, director at Autocab Private Hire, says the deal is a ‘win-win’ for drivers and passengers.
