ARMED POLICE SWOOP ON CITY CENTRE PUB

ARMED police were sent to a pub after reports of a gun being fired.

Officers carrying guns were seen searching the area around The Talisman pub, in Furlong Road, Tunstall, at around 10.10pm on Saturday.

However, nothing was found and no one was reported as injured during the incident.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to a report of a firearm being discharged.

“The local policing team continue to investigate and would appeal for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at that time to contact 101.”
