FORMER CITY CENTRE SUPERSTORE ON THE MARKET FOR £150K
A MOTHBALLED superstore which was once home to Tesco and Go Outdoors is up for sale – for as little as £150,000.
The unit – which boasts a 487-space car park – goes up for auction on Wednesday.
The site on New Hall Street, Hanley has been empty since Go Outdoors mysteriously closed its shop and car park before the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
It later relocated to Festival Park and has now moved to a new unit on the same retail park.
Go Outdoors had opened there, above, after Tesco closed its old supermarket to make way for its new store on nearby Potteries Way.
Auctioneer Acquitus states: “The property comprises a substantial city centre retail warehouse benefitting from three levels of undercroft car parking which can accommodate 487 cars.
“The property may be suitable for sub division and / or alternative uses, including warehouse, leisure and selfstorage, subject to consents.
“The property may also be suitable for redevelopment, subject to consents. There are some structural defects to the car park.”
