A MOTORIST who killed a dad and seriously injured the dead man’s daughter has been jailed for 12 years.

Mark Taylor had been drinking in a pub in Nantwich before the crash on February 24.

Chester Crown Court heard that a man attempted to pull the 39-year-old out of the Honda Accord to prevent him driving. But Taylor pushed him away and slammed the door shut before driving off.

Taylor’s car veered over the central white line on Newcastle Road and collided head-on with a Nissan Pixo N-tec.

Sadly, despite efforts to save him, the 59-yearold Nissan driver, from Oakemere, died later in hospital. His daughter, who was a passenger in the vehicle, also suffered serious injuries.

Taylor, of Railway Street, Crewe, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and causing death while driving with no insurance and no licence.
