FIVE-STAR TURNER EARNS WIN FOR STAFFORD ON THEIR TRAVELS

MATTHEW Turner’s five-star performanc­e set up Stafford’s Under18s Division victory at Meakins.

Turner wasted little time in taking 5-5 as Meakins were bowled out for 69, despite Lewis Wright (28) and Sam Wainwright (16) making decent starts.

Jonny Horden and Reuben Sutton both took a couple of wickets to aid the visitors’ cause.

Rishi Harish completed Stafford’s victory charge, making 36 not out, to seal an eight-wicket triumph.

Bignall End were in fine form with the bat as they won by seven wickets at Hem Heath.

Set 159 for victory, Tom Myatt’s unbeaten 61, which contained six fours and one six, set the platform for Bignall End to cross the line.

Ahsam Zaroof lent valuable support with 45, while Tom Saji (24no) was there at the end as Bignall End knocked off the runs with more than six of their 30 overs remaining.

Earlier in the contest, Jack Jones’ 51, Matt Moore’s 48 not out and Sahill Khan’s 31 had helped Hem Heath to 158-7.

Zaroof was the pick of the visitors’ attack, scooping 4-25.

Sandyford banked the points from their visit to Stone SP.

Hosts Stone SP took first use and posted a highly-respectabl­e 166-6 from their allocation.

Devon Pollard (48), James Burton (40no) and 29 apiece from Edward Batchelor and Archie Cleary-baker, were the main contributi­ons with the bat. Dako Vujcic took two wickets.

Batchelor and Burton replied with their own double strikes, but Sandyford complete a five-wicket win in the penultimat­e over.

Oliver Shirley’s unbeaten 100 led the successful chase, with the opener hitting 12 fours and one six and facing just 91 balls.

Finley Beswick also chipped in with 26.

Porthill Park had the better of their draw at home against Whitmore.

Connor Uren’s unbeaten 102, plus 89 from Harry Stubbs, guided Porthill Park to 206-1 declared.

Whitmore dug in after the interval as Yumeth Athauda (31) led them to 64-7 at the close.

Sam Barker and Auyush Deshpande both struck twice for Porthill Park.

· LONGTON emerged victorious on their trip to Knypersley in Under-13s Section Y.

Longton were bowled out for 86 in the early stages of the match as Cerys Andrews and Fletcher Moseley both took two wickets.

Joel Chacko (23) and Zander Hulme (15) provided the batting highlights for the visitors.

In reply, Alfie Ridgway captured 4-19 - and Ethan Budd picked up a couple of victims - as Knypersley were bowled out for 37.

Leek inched to a one-wicket win in their home meeting with Rode Park & Lawton.

Rode Park & Lawton made their way to 139 all out as Adam Fenn topscored with 35. Oliver Finch (18) and Sam Marshall (17) also impressed.

Oliver Yates was the pick of the Leek attack, taking 3-22, while there were two wickets apiece for Cameron Mcnab, Aiden Heath and Jack Bowcock.

Bowcock then showed off his allround credential­s with 58 not out in the run chase, striking eight fours and one six.

And with Yates adding 34, Leek knocked off the runs, despite Joel Gallimore scooping 3-10.

Newcastle & Hartshill and Hem Heath drew their encounter.

Visitors Hem Heath amassed 151-5 from their 30 overs thanks to Wasay Jabar (34no), Jack Sanders (24) and Charlie Leese (23).

In reply, Tommy Pinnell compiled 52 not out and even though Jabar claimed 3-9, Castle drew stumps on 124-6.

It was honours even in the match between Whitmore and Porthill Park.

Priya Kondratiuk and Oliver Johnson contribute­d 50 and 34 respective­ly to Whitmore’s 173-4.

Oscar Bradshaw (34), Malik Levack (25) and Aarnav Sirigiri (24no) led Porthill Park to 115-7 in reply, in which Joe Harrison (3-16) and Johnson (3-21) starred with the ball.

· IN Under-13s Section Z, checkley made home advantage count to beat Barlaston.

Lorcan Potts’ 50 was backed up by 29 from Joules Pritchard as Checkley reached 152-5.

Hugo Schroder (16) top-scored in response, but Barlaston were dismissed for 99 as Joshua Stones picked up 3-18.

Oakamoor won by 96 runs at home against Cheadle. Syd Brindley hit five fours in his 62 as Oakamoor stuck 132 all out on the board. Bailey Woodcock and Alfie Blood took 4-33 and 3-16 respective­ly.

Cheadle were bowled out for 36 in reply as Brindley took 3-0 and Callum Cross weighed in with 3-14.

Stone SP won on their visit to Stafford.

Half-centuries from Harry Cheadle (52) and Reid Taylor (50) powered Stone SP to 181-2 declared.

James Hall then took 3-3 - and there were double strikes from Toby Watkin and Carson Potts - as Stafford were dismissed for 21.

· IN the Under-13s eight-a-side division, there were wins for Audley and Wood Lane.
