RISING star Lizzie Daily-hunt has secured a place with the prestigious National Youth Theatre.

The budding actor was among thousands of young people to audition for those running the world leading youth arts organisation in London.

Newcastle-under-lyme School student Lizzie will now undertake an intensive acting course over the summer.

Her success means she then becomes a member of the organisation until the age of 25, enabling her to take part in training courses, productions and more over the next decade.

Lizzie has also recently achieved her LAMDA grade 8 acting, at the age of only 15, and received a distinction with a very high mark of 94/100, after being taught and supported by Ella Jones, Newcastle-under-lyme School’s LAMDA Speech and Drama Teacher.

After first enrolling in drama lessons at the age of four, Lizzie has fostered her love for acting through taking part in countless productions with school such as Into The Woods and The Sound of Music and has been part of The New Vic Youth Theatre and The Young Rep Acting School based at the Stoke Repertory Theatre.

As well as being newly welcomed into the National Youth Theatre, Lizzie also successfully auditioned for The National Youth Girls’ Choir when she was in Year 6 at NULS, and is now a member of The National Youth Training Choir, performing in concerts across the UK.

Lizzie, who lives in Newcastle-under-lyme, said: “Working with The National Youth Theatre has been my ambition for several years.

“It is a fantastic opportunity to develop my acting and performing and I am so grateful for all the amazing support I have had to get there.”

Ella Jones, Lizzie’s acting coach who guided her throughout the preparation and auditions said: “I am incredibly proud of Lizzie. Applying to the National Youth Theatre is a really tough process and she has shown such resilience and determination throughout all of the preparation.”
