LITTLE Mabel Rose Collins has touched the hearts of Sentinel readers to be crowned winner of our 2022 Cute Kids competition.

Her cheeky smile saw the one-year-old emerge as the winner after the thousands of votes cast were counted.

She has received the £500 first prize with another £500 shared by the two runners-up.

Mabel Rose’s mum, Jessica, of May Bank, said: “We are so pleased our beautiful daughter Mabel Rose has won The Sentinel’s Cute Kids 2022 competition.

“All our family have always been so proud of her, she’s such a gorgeous, kind hearted, funny and lovely little girl – even though she’s a cheeky monkey most of the time.

“She’s a very lucky little girl. We will be putting her winning money into her savings for when she’s older. We would also like to thank everyone who has been voting for Mabel Rose. She really is the cutest kid!”

More than 100 adorable youngsters from North Staffordshire and South Cheshire were entered into this year’s competition – and more than one million votes were cast.

Those votes saw Ivy Green emerge as the second placed runner-up and win £300, while Oliver Hassall was in third place receiving £200.

Cute Kids is sponsored by From the Stork Bespoke Baby, a baby store on the Trentham Estate run by husband and wife Andy and Steph Lane and their daughter Aubrey. They opened the shop in June last year and have since seen it grow rapidly.

They said: “Sponsoring Cute Kids 2022 was a no-brainer for us. It’s such an iconic part of The Sentinel.

“I can remember my nieces entering when they were young and it’s great to see people engaging and having fun after a difficult couple of years.

“As a gesture from ourselves to the support we have received with the shop since we have opened we wanted to offer first, second and third places a gift voucher to spend in store alongside their cash prize – for £50, £30 and £20.”

Chloe Robinson, The Sentinel’s promotions manager, said: “It was another great year for the ever-popular Cute Kids competition and thanks to all the parents who put forward their little cuties.

“We had some gorgeous pictures sent in and I’m sure not only did it bring some smiles to the parents seeing their little ones in the newspaper, but also to our readers as well.

“Having received an overwhelming number of votes for the first round, we then printed the top 24 who were voted for again and we can now proudly announce our winner and runners-up, who each receive a cheque.

“We hope they enjoy spending their winnings. Thank you to all who entered and voted – as always it’s been an absolute pleasure.”
