ATLANTIS THE PALM SET FOR DUBAI

The Royal Atlantis Dubai is set to open its doors close to sister property Atlantis The Palm, later this year.

The spectacula­r 43-storey building is home to 795 rooms and 102 suites. Breathtaki­ng features include the 295ft-long infinity pool on the 22nd floor overlookin­g the Persian Gulf, the Skyblaze Fountain – the world’s first water-meets-fire show, and the largest jellyfish tank (more than 4,000 of them) on the planet.

Its restaurant­s have a stellar cast of internatio­nal chefs, including Heston Blumenthal, Nobu Matsuhisa and Gordon Ramsay.

£1.6M REVAMP FOR HIGHLANDS HOTEL

After a

£1.6m spruce-up, the Royal

Marine Hotel in Brora on the east coast of the North Highlands, has re-opened.

There’s a Scandi-scot feel to the new interiors thanks to local artisans. Each of the 21 rooms features handcrafte­d beds adorned with bespoke tartan throws.

New dining venues include The Curing Yard restaurant offering a seafood-rich menu and the Megan Boyd bar which serves light bites, Scottish ales and cocktails. The James Braid Lounge is the place to relax with a dram of the local malt whisky.

It overlooks the harbour and beaches, lochs, and glens are on the doorstep. There’s also Brora Golf Club next door. B&B from £249 a night.

‘LOST’ LENNON TAPE GOES HOME

The Beatlesthe­med Hard Days Night Hotel is bringing a highly prized ‘lost’ tape of a 1964 John Lennon interview home to Liverpool after placing the highest bid at auction. It was bought for £3,100, along with photos and a tape recorder, and will go on display at the hotel.
