NEW census data shows nearly four in 10 residents in one part of Stoke-on-trent were born overseas.

Hanley & Etruria has the largest migrant population, with 3,164 foreign-born residents. This equates to 37.9 per cent of the neighbourh­ood’s population. Other city areas with high numbers of foreign-born residents include Shelton & Joiners Square (28.6 per cent), Florence (27.7 per cent) and Tunstall (24.8 per cent). Longton East has the fewest, with just 213, or three per cent of the population. Stoke-on-trent as a whole saw its non-uk born population increase from 20,714 in 2011 to 33,838 in 2021.
