ALSAGER Town moved up to third place in the Premier Division table with a 1-0 win against Walsall Phoenix.

With other sides in Vase action, Alsager took full advantage to climb the standings thanks to Jordan Erdmann’s 60th-minute goal.

Audley moved up to ninth position following a 3-2 victory over Ashbourne.

Ricky Wright and Owen Bailey were on target for Adrian Webb’s Derbyshire outfit, but George Gilmore, Ben Hewitt and Elliot Spooner ensured the points were in the bag for the hosts.

Lichfield City pulled themselves clear from the lower reaches of the division when they thrashed Abbey Hulton United 6-3.

Ben Mortiboy gave the hosts a fifth-minute lead which was extended just after the half-hour with a Max Haywood goal before Haydn Brown strike made it three.

The second half saw City’s Bobby Watson grab a brace with that man Brown adding his second to complete the scoring for the team from the Spires.

In Division One, Madeley White Star cemented fourth place with a 7-0 demolition of Cresswell Wanderers.

Jordan Hewitt bagged four with a brace in each half - after James Carr had opened the scoring in the sixth minute with Joe Morris and Harvey Lowe adding two more in the rout.

Hawkins Sports moved into sixth place in the table with victory over Eastwood Hanley Reserves at Coppice Lane.

Will Morris hit a hat-trick and Liam Pike a brace with Jack Miles adding a single strike in the drubbing.

Elsewhere, Keele University put five past City of Stoke Reserves to move into ninth place.

In Division Two North, secondplac­ed Leek CSOB Reserves suffered a setback when they were beaten 3-0 at Pointon Park by Keele University Reserves.

The reverse now sees the Old Boys nine points behind leaders Florence Youth who have played game less than their Staffordsh­ire Moorlands counterpar­ts.

FC 41 Reserves lifted themselves off the bottom of the table when they defeated fellow strugglers Audley Developmen­t at Northwood Stadium.

17th-minute lead which was extended on 37 with a Reuben Dennis strike.

Kienan Culverwell pulled a goal back for Audley on 50 minutes, but Chris Baldo made sure of the points when he fired in the Milton-based hosts third on 74 minutes.

Division Two South leaders Warstones Wanderers suffered a shock defeat when they visited Albrighton, losing 4-0.

Danny Burke set the hosts on their way in the 17th minute with Tom Oldcorn adding a second before the interval.

Sam Edmondson and Kyle Pritchard added two further strikes in the second half to secure the win.

Lee Jackson’s Wyrley side now sit third in the table following a 4-1 victory over Three Spires United at Long Lane.

An Adam Bryant goal was added to by a Chad Smith hat-trick for the hosts with Josh Clamp bagging the solitary reply for the Lichfield side.

Amitoj Arora and Karmveer Singh Rai were the men on target for Stafford Town Reserves as they defeated hosts Cannock United.

Elsewhere, hosts Walsall Phoenix Reserves beat AFC Real Medina 3-0.

In the second round of the Staffordsh­ire FA Vase, Leek CSOB saw off Newcastle Town.

The Moorlander­s were cruising in the opening first half where a

brace from experience­d striker Eddie Ellis and an enterprisi­ng solo effort from Jay Blurton gave the Moorlander­s a comfortabl­e 3-0 half-time lead.

The second half began poorly for the Old Boys when they were reduced to ten with an eagle-eyed assistant noticed a Leek defender lash out and an opponent off the ball and saw red.

From that moment on the task was made far more difficult for Leek, but they had enough guile to see themselves through to the quarter-finals.

Fellow Leek outfit Ball Haye Green also made it through with a 3-0 win over Redgate Clayton Reserves at Northwood lane.

The youngsters from Florence beat a team from a higher division in Cheadle Town 2-0, while Dan Dawson’s Redgate Clayton came through a stern test when they beat Division One high-fliers Uttoxeter Town Reserves 4-2.

A solitary strike put Allan Davies’ Silverdale Athletic through to the next round with a win over fellow Premier Division side FC 41, while league leaders Brereton Social put three goals past hosts City of Stoke without reply at Whisper Lane in Butterton.

Kidsgrove Athletic Reserves, from Division One, bloodied the noses of Premier Division highfliers Wolstanton United 2-0, while Wyrley United won 3-2 at Milton United.
