FIRE-HIT HISTORIC HOUSE FACES DEMOLITION

FORMAL plans have been lodged to demolish one of Stoke-on-trent’s oldest homes – four months after flames ripped through it.

Three teenagers were arrested when Ford Green House, in Smallthorne, went up in flames in June.

Now Stoke-on-trent City Council has been asked to approve its demolition.

A structural inspection report submitted to the council says ‘significant damage’ has occurred ‘throughout the building’.

The council will make a decision in due course.
