135 ARRESTS IN EIGHT WEEK COUNTY WIDE POLICE OPERATION
POLICE have made 135 arrests, caught more than 1,000 speeding drivers and seized £2,000 worth of drugs in a new crime crackdown.
The eight-week Operation Cadence saw officers focus on anti-social behaviour, drug-related criminality, vehicle crime and speeding.
It saw 647 stop-and-searches, 175 arrests, £2,085 worth of drugs seized, £13,069 in cash seized, vehicles valued at £59,100 seized, 1,056 speeding drivers identified, 38 uninsured drivers stopped and drug and drink-drive tests on 54 people.
Chief Superintendent Elliott Sharrard-williams said: “We are always proactive in our pursuit of offenders and this operation really gave us a chance to show people what we are continuing to do to make their communities safer.”
