A WOMAN needed oxygen therapy after a fire broke out out in the kitchen of a shop in Weston Road at 2.30pm yesterday.

Firefighte­rs confirmed they treated one patient who had suffered smoke inhalation in the blaze, which broke out at around 2.30pm.

Police shut Weston Road while crews from Longton tackled the flames, leading to First Potteries buses being diverted. It has not been confirmed which shop was affected.
