FREEZING MUM SLAMS LANDLORD AS CHILDREN ‘FORCED OUT OF HOME’

-

A Mum-of-two has hit out at a lettings company – after living with a leak above her boiler for weeks.

Kelly Anne says she has had no hot water or heating and has had to send her young children – aged two and three – to stay with their grandparents or dad overnight.

Water damage at the Hanley two-bed terrace has also caused the 28-yearold to throw away some of her belongings, including toiletries.

She says she got in touch with the letting agent – which acts on behalf of the landlord – and a maintenance worker was sent out on the same day. But Kelly Anne says the issue has still not been sorted.

The mum pays £465 a month in rent – and says the service is not good enough.

She added: “There was water dripping down my boiler and coming through the kitchen wall. Enough is enough, something needs doing now.

“I am scared for my own safety and my children’s safety. When I have to turn the sockets off I have no hot water or heating, it’s absolutely freezing.

“People need to see what’s going on and it’s not good enough.

“I feel like I am not being listened to. The service has been shocking.”

The letting agent has told The Sentinel that the landlord has already paid out over £5,000 towards this particular issue. They say they are “in the process of trying to sort it”.
