Large redundant colliery in need of major repair and regeneration. The site includes 15 scheduled structures and five listed buildings.

A heritage based regeneration programme was started based on a masterplan but a long term solution still needs to be agreed. The city council is continuing to explore longer term proposals, which include reuse of the site.
