COPS CALLED AFTER DELIVERY DRIVER PUNCHED

-

THE owners of a Chinese takeaway have been left ‘angry and saddened’ – after one of their delivery drivers was attacked by a customer.

Staffordshire Police have been called in following the attack on Kinsey Street, in Silverdale.

The driver – from Tasty Wok, on Drayton Street, in Newcastle – had a £70 order snatched out of his hands on Saturday night without receiving any payment. And when he went back on Wednesday night to try to get payment he was punched.

Police were called to Kinsey Street at 9pm on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to an address following reports of a disturbance. Officers attended and the involved parties were spoken to. Those involved declined any further police action.”
