MAN, 22, ARRESTED AFTER HOUSE BLAZE LEAVES THREE IN HOSPITAL
Neighbours evacuated in the early hours
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a Stoke-on-trent home.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, in King Street, Fenton, and ensured the property was safe while police evacuated neighbouring buildings.
Two children and a woman were assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital as a precaution.
A 22-year-old man, from Stoke-ontrent, was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
Staffordshire Police said officers were sent to the fire in the early hours of yesterday.
A spokesman added: “A man has been arrested following a house fire in
Stoke-on-trent. We were called to an address near King Street just before 1.30am following reports of a house fire.
“We attended alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. Firefighters extinguished the fire and ensured the property was safe whilst we evacuated adjoining buildings.
“Two children and a woman were assessed by paramedics at the scene and were taken to hospital as a precaution.
“A 22-year-old man, from Stoke-ontrent, was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He remains in custody while inquiries continue.”
