GROUNDWORKER LOST JOB AFTER DRUG-DRIVING
DRUG-DRIVER Jamil Wlazlo has been banned from the roads for 12 months.
The 27-year-old was stopped driving a van in Courtway Drive, Sneyd Green, at 9.30pm on July 7.
Prosecutor Emma Thompson told magistrates officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis from the van.
Miss Thompson said: “The defendant provided a positive preliminary drug test at the roadside.
At the police station he provided blood which had a reading of 3.9 against the legal limit of 2.”
Wlazlo, of Tilbrook Close, Berryhill, pleaded guilty to drug-driving.
Mark Bromley, mitigating, said Wlazlo had smoked a cannabis cigarette shortly before he was stopped. Mr Bromley added: “He has lost his job as a groundworker.”
Wlazlo was fined £80 and ordered to pay £167 in costs.
