DRIVER IN HOSPITAL AFTER HITTING WALL
A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a car ended up on its side in a city street.
Emergency services were sent to Penkhull New Road, Penkhull, following the single-vehicle smash.
Staffordshire Police said officers were called just after 10.15am on Sunday.
A spokesman said: “Officers attended as did our colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
“On arrival, we found a grey Volvo S40 on its side. A woman, in her 20s, the driver, was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.”
The force has said that ‘inquiries are ongoing’ into the cause of the collision, which also also saw two ambulances called out.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman said: “Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended.
“On arrival, crews found a car had collided with a wall.
“A woman, the driver, was assessed at the scene and taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital as a precaution.
“A man, the passenger, was treated for minor injuries by medics but declined hospital treatment.”
