Trentham estate reveals Christmas plans

CHRISTMAS is coming to Trentham this week with a series of festive events and activities.

From makers’ markets and festive lights to tasty treats and a chance to meet Santa, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The fun kicks off on Fridaywhen the shopping village’s Christmas lights will be switched on at a special event running from 5:30pm to 8pm.

The big name shops and independen­t boutiques will open and there’ll be live music to put you in the holiday mood.

The man in red will also be at Trentham from 3pm to 6pm on Friday and he’ll be back with his elves every weekend until Sunday, December 18, from 10am to 4pm, as well as on Thursday, December 22, Friday, December 23 and Christmas Eve. Tickets for his grotto – which is at Trentham for the first time in three years – are selling fast on Trentham’s website and at the garden’s entrance.

Up to five children can see Santa together per 10-minute time slot – at a cost of £15 per child – and will each receive a magic key and a special gift during their meet and greet with the big man. As well as

Santa, the ever-popular singing reindeer are making a return this year and are already in position in the garden centre.

There will also be Christmas makers’ markets on three weekends featuring local food and drink, artists, crafts people and artisans. These will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, November 19, Sunday, November 20, Saturday, November 26, Sunday, November 27, Saturday, December 3, and Sunday, December 4.

And finally, the estate’s stunning multisenso­ry light trail through the gardens will be back again from Friday, December 2, to Sunday, January 1. Tickets cost from £22.10 for adults and £14.60 and are available on Trentham’s website.
