Tax cuts ‘possible’

-

CONSERVATIVE Party Chairman Nadhim Zahawi has signalled that the Tories could consider cutting taxes if possible in the next few years.

The former chancellor told the Telegraph that ministers “wouldn’t have a hope in hell” of reducing taxes before inflation lessens, but “when we come out the other end, I’m sure Jeremy Hunt’s priority will be to start looking at what more we can do to help people with the tax burden”.

The comments come amid some indications of backbench unease about the tax-rising plan.
