SINGERS TO STAGE TWO FESTIVE EVENTS AT GRADE 1 CHURCH
FESTIVE music fans are being offered two chances to celebrate the Christmas season with a local choir at one of North Staffordshire’s finest churches.
Members of the Cheddletonbased St Cecilia Singers will perform at a Come And Sing Advent Carol Service at Leek’s Grade I listed All Saints’ Church on Sunday November 27 at 4pm.
And at 7pm on December 9, the choir will gather for a second time for a Carols By Candlelight Service, again at All Saints’.
On that occasion, in addition to the wonderful music - staged by atmospheric candlelight - there will also be sherry and mince pies.
Both events will feature music from the choir and plenty of opportunities for the congregation to join in the singing.
Anthony Thorley, musical director of the St Cecilia Singers, said: “Christmas is a very special time and is made even more so by the joyous sound of seasonal carols being sung.
“We hope lots of people will come along to one, or both, of these special services to join in the celebrations in the magnificent surroundings of Leek’s All Saints’ Church.”
■ Entrance to both services is free of charge.
