RAT RUN ROAD IN CITY BEING DUG UP AGAIN
WORKS are continuing on a busy Potteries rat-run to replace ageing gas pipes. Newford Crescent is currently shut in Milton as Cadent is again in the village.
Bosses say the latest round of works will reduce the need to dig up the road again. As previously reported by The Sentinel, the gas supplier had dug up parts of Newford Crescent and
Maunders Road to replace a 70-yearold gas pipe. Now a system further along Newford Crescent is being replaced. The scheme is due to be completed on December 9. A spokesperson for Cadent said: “Once the new pipes are in the ground, they should last for many years and will need little or no maintenance.”
