POLICE OFFICER INJURED IN STREET DISORDER

A POLICE officer was injured after youths became embroiled in disorder in Stoke-on-trent.

Police were called after trouble erupted at Kinetic Academy, in Sandon Road, Meir.

One officer sustained a scratch on her arm during the disturbance in the middle of the afternoon. Eight youths who were congregating in Sandon Road were forced to leave the area.

A 16-year-old girl was also referred to the Youth Offending Services.

The incident happened at around 1.25pm on Tuesday, November 15.

A force spokesman said: “An officer sustained a scratch on her arm. She did not require treatment and continued with her duties.

“We will continue to work with partner agencies to ensure no further disorder takes place in the area.”
