-

AN armed thug ‘slashed’ a 21-yearold man during a terrifying midday robbery.

Police say the robber demanded the victim’s wallet and when he refused slashed his coat – leaving him with a scratch on his stomach.

Now police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Crewe.

Investigating officers say the victim, a 21-year-old man, was walking along an alleyway behind Middlewich Street towards Mccoll’s when he was approached by a man believed to have been armed with a small knife.

Detectives say the offender was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up, dark tracksuit bottoms with holes in and work-type safety boots. Officers are appealing for witnesses. The force has also told residents that they will see officers patrolling the area following the incident which took place around 12.15pm on November 19.

Detective Constable Vicky Greenhoff said: “Thankfully the man only sustained minor injuries. However, the ordeal is no-less terrifying.”
