WORLD CUP PROMOTES FOSTERING
FOOTBALL teams, carers and young people have joined a national campaign to promote fostering during the World Cup.
Staffordshire County Council’s fostering service has teamed up with 26 other authorities in the campaign to create Local Councils United. Their aim is to recruit more foster carers for the county’s children in care.
The new virtual team will share short video clips each day during the tournament explaining why people should foster with their local council.
Mark Sutton, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People at Staffordshire County Council said: “Sports and football are great ways of bringing people and communities together.”
Staffordshire will be featured on December 8 but all 26 videos are available to watch on Youtube.
