CRESCENT KEEP UP PERFECT RECORD, BUT GREENHOFFS RETURN TO WINNING WAYS TO STAY AT PREMIER SUMMIT

CRESCENT maintained their 100 per cent record in the Premier Division with a 2-0 home victory over FC Lambourne.

Liam Tomlin gave the hosts a half-time lead, but Lambourne had their chances - including a missed penalty.

Jack Flanagan then netted in the second period to bank the points for the home side.

Greenhoffs returned to winning ways with a thumping 7-1 home success against Moorlands Athletic.

Adam Holford scored twice as Greenhoffs moved four points clear at the top of the table.

Men Unite were sharp shooters to see off Cuckoo Albion 6-0.

A spectacula­r overhead kick from Lee Cropper broke the deadlock in the first half.

Owen Harrison’s cross saw Cropper head home number two after the interval and fine footwork from Travis Capey saw him wrong foot the Cuckoo keeper to score the third.

Jack Gumbley completed a one-two with Lee Cropper before finishing well for 4-0 and Cropper headed home a miscued shot to complete his hat-trick.

A first Men Unite goal from Ash Franklin completed the scoring and the result keeps Men Unite in the title hunt.

In Division One, Beverley Athletic jumped to the summit thanks to a 4-2 victory at Vale Hoppers.

The hosts started well and drew a couple of fine saves from the visiting keeper.

Hoppers took a first-half lead as Paul Spruce pounced on the loose ball during a goalmouth scramble to score.

Matt Dale missed a great chance to double the advantage as he beat the keeper in a one-on-one, but the shot was wide.

Beverley levelled when Isaac Whalley raced on to a long ball to slot past the home keeper for 1-1.

The visitors found renewed belief after the goal and took the lead just before half-time as Jim Hazelton finished well.

Hoppers rallied after the break and deservedly levelled when a corner from the left was prodded home by Zack Oakes on 54 minutes to make it 2-2.

Both sides missed chances to go ahead before The Bev took full advantage of the afore mentioned poor defending by Hoppers to take all three points.

A mix-up at the back gave Ash

Wright the chance to lob the ball into the empty net which he took with glee and five minutes later a free-kick from Robbie Lawton deceived everyone and nestled into the bottom corner for 4-2.

Barber Life produced a fine performanc­e to beat Newcastle & Hartshill 4-0 in Division Two.

Jack Hurd opened the scoring for the hosts from a superb free-kick and the same player made it 2-0 with a fine drive from the edge of the penalty area.

Hurd completed a first-half hattrick with another free-kick which the visiting keeper could have done better with as it squirmed through his legs for 3-0.

The visitors upped the ante either side of half-time but failed to make the breakthrou­gh they needed and Ash Weston claimed a debut goal for Barber Life.

Cheshire Cheese rallied to draw 3-3 at home against winless Windmill.

The visitors took a lead in the first

minute through Jack Davis, but a Nathan Faulkner strike levelled for the hosts.

Louis Palmer restored the Windmill lead before the interval and another goal from Jack Davis made it 3-1.

With 15 minutes to go Cheese reduced the arrears through Nathan Faulkner again and skipper Owen Yewdall popped up with a last-minute equaliser as he made it 3-3.

Hazelhurst are three points clear at the top following a 5-0 home win against Queensberr­y.

The hosts led 2-0 at the break and eased away in the second half.

Ash Thompson bagged a brace with Leo Emery and Josh Bridgeshal­e also on target. Patryk Mazurkiewi­cz completed the scoring.

Congleton Colts are up to fourth thanks to a 4-0 success at Queens Head.

Zak Holley gave the Colts a half-time lead with a goal in the

opening 10 minutes and although the rest of the half was an even affair Josh Frith made it 2-0 after the interval.

On own goal saw the score move onto 3-0 and a close-range finish from James Reid completed the scoring.

Lee Mountford bagged a treble as The Jug won 4-3 at Brown Edge in Division Three.

Mountford gave the visitors a first-half lead as he faced on to a through-ball and rounded the keeper, but the hosts were soon level thanks to a dipping effort from Dom Marshall.

The Jug were ahead again 10 minutes later after a softish penalty award as two players jumped for a ball just inside the box and Mountford converted the spot-kick.

Brown Edge rallied and had their best spell of the game which saw a fine ball into the box find Chris Roberts who turned and finished well into the corner to leave the game poised at 2-2 by the interval.

The second half saw Jug make most of the running as the hosts were tiring and struggling with knocks.

The Jug worked the ball well down the right and a fine ball across the box saw sub Lewis Cotton tap home at the far post.

Chris Hillman hit the post soon after for the visitors, but the Jug did open up a two-goal cushion when an Adam Convey free-kick was headed home at close range by Mountford as he completed his hat-trick.

An Adam Threadgold header from a corner saw Brown Edge grab another goal back with virtually the last touch of the game.

FC Maybank extended their lead at the top with a 3-1 home win against Mossley Park.

The visitors started well, but didn’t take their chances and the hosts ended up taking the lead when Harry Salt played in Isaac Springett who finished well.

Matt Rogalski made it 2-0 when

he headed home from a left-wing cross from Tom Mason and the duo repeated the feat for 3-0 courtesy of a neat volley.

In between the two Rogalski goals Tom Mason had one chalked off for offside. Mossley Park grabbed a second-half consolatio­n via an own goal.

Mitchells grabbed their first league win by seeing off Butt Lane White Star 2-1.

Kyle Clarke scored the opener from close range after a goalmouth scramble, but a great header from Harry Hartley levelled for the visitors.

Mitchells missed a first-half penalty and hit the woodwork on more than one occasion.

The winner came from a good move down the right and a tidy finish into the bottom corner from Ben Hewitt.

A second-half double from Joel Dale earned Royal Oak the points at Plaza.

They trailed to a Liam Shaugnessy, but Dale turned the tables after the interval.

In Division Four, Breaks Athletic secured a first win of the season with a 3-2 home victory over Staffs Vics.

Ryan Heery gave the hosts a first-half lead, but Vics came back after the break to lead 2-1 thanks to goals from Simon Worthingto­n and Marvin Johnson.

Breaks wasted a great chance to strike back when Ryan Heery missed a penalty but the hosts never gave in and got their rewards with Will Dimmick equalising before a George Dawson penalty secured all three points.

AFC Wolstanton won a sevengoal thriller at Locomotive.

Wolstanton opened up a two-goal lead through Own Dalgarno and Mike Hall before a Macauley Hall brace dragged Locomotive level.

Dalgarno scored again for the visitors with Rob Hemmings scoring for the hosts before Owen Smith popped up with a winner for AFC Wolstanton.

In Division Five, Bradwell Developmen­t stay in the bottom three after a 5-0 defeat to Norton Central Social.

Jack Mcgrath bagged two with Aaron Ratcliffe and Jamie Ball also on target for the visitors. Ethan Rosson competed the scoring.

Sumner Athletic kept up their fine form with a 2-0 win at Cat Inn.

Dan Bertram bagged a first half double with two close-range

finishes and although The Cat Inn improved after the break they never threatened an upset.

Cheadle Reserves were edged out 3-2 at home by Bradwell 3-2.

Nathan Hulme and Jack Day scored for the hosts with Arjun Rathoor and Luke Mountford scoring for Bradwell. Rathoor’s second of the game claimed all three points for the visitors.

Chesterton Bucks had to come from behind to claim a 4-1 victory at Green Star.

Callum Pickerill gave the hosts an early lead, but that seemed to kickstart the visitors who were level soon after with a neat Sam Darke finish.

Darke then scored his second before half-time to give Bucks the lead at the interval.

Alex Lindsay made it 3-1 as he poked home a cross and Darke completed his hat-trick with the goal of the game as he dribbled past several players before finishing well to make the game safe.

The Mona defeated Royal Oak Biddulph 6-3 on home turf.

Royal Oak had the better of the first half as a Brandon Rafferty double saw them ahead at the break.

The Mona improved after the interval and although Rafferty completed his hat-trick for the second successive week the hosts scored through James Naylor (2), Dave Farr and George Kay.

Joe Kay and Dean Watson provided the icing on the cake with late goals.

In the second round of the Autonet Insurance League Cup, Roaring Meg needed extra-time to beat Cheadle SMU 5-3.

Reece Owen bagged a firsthalf brace for Roaring Meg as he latched on to a pull back on each occasion to finish well.

Cheadle rallied in the second half and not only dragged themselves level, but came back to lead 3-2.

Oli Teague scoring twice with Fraser Bradbury also on target.

A very late hotly disputed penalty for handball gave The Meg the chance to send the game into extra-time and Liam Rushton duly obliged for the hosts.

Meg went ahead after Cheadle were reduced to 10 men for a second yellow.

Lewis Timony with a goal of the season contender as he found the top corner from 25 yards out.

Reece Owen completed his hattrick late on as he produced a cool finish after a mazy run beating several players.

The Battle of The White Harts saw the Division Four side take their Second Division namesakes all the way to penalties before coming out on top in one of the shocks of the round.

The visitors took an early lead through Jordan Condliffe but the hosts bounced back to lead 2-1 with both goals coming from Tevin Deer.

The home side upped the ante and levelled through Josh Davies before Azzer Linnell looked to have won the game for the higherrank­ed visitors.

The home side responded immediatel­y with an equaliser from skipper Nathan Berry that sent the game into extra-time.

With no more goals in extra time the game went to a shoot-out and Smallthorn­e keeper Ben Frost saved a spot-kick giving Johnny Cartlidge the chance to send the Division Four leaders through 5-4.

In the Tatters Trophy second round, a Joe Miles brace helped Congress to a 4-0 win at Division Five Athletico 53.

The First Division strugglers also had Chris Perkin and Tom Miles on the scoresheet.

Holditch eased past fellow Division Two side AFC Moorlands with a goal in each half.

Sam Miah scored in the first half with Aqmar Zafar increasing the lead after the break.

In-form Linley Tavern pull off a surprise as they beat Third Division Silverdale Athletic 2-0.

The Division Five leaders had Tom Shea to thank for their progress as he bagged a brace.

In the Staffs FA Sunday Challenge Cup, Canal Tavern Kidsgrove lost on penalties to Churnet Valley, Redgate Clayton were beaten 2-1 at Littleton and Loggerhead­s saw off Seighford 2-0.

Adderley Green cruise into the second round of the Sentinel Sunday Cup at the expense of fellow Division One side Royal Furlong. Dan Holdcroft, Elisio Francisco and Matt Pender all score as the visitors open up a 3-0 lead before Scot Harris pulled one back for Furlong.

Matthew Wolliscrof­t added number four to restore the threegoal advantage.
