Brad thought he was ‘dreaming’ when he got up to find it gone

A DAD-TO-BE fears he is being watched after he woke up to find his motorbike had been stolen.

Brad Jones left his Skyteam Pro Monkey motorcycle in a private car park next to his Fenton home on Tuesday evening.

But when he got up at 6am yesterday, the bike was nowhere to be seen. The gated site is for residents only so Brad believes someone nearby must be behind the theft.

The 21-year-old said: “I woke up to go to work, like any normal morning, but my bike was missing.

“I thought I was in a dream. We had a neighbour who had their bike pinched a month and a half ago in the same car park. It must be someone who lives around here. It makes you wonder.”

Brad walked around the estate hoping his bike had been dumped but with no joy. He said: “My gear shifter on my bike is loose, it will fall off, every night I untighten it. I thought if anything was to happen, they’d look at that and see that and dump it.

“I walked around the estate, through the alleyways. It wasn’t there so I came back and rang the police straight away.”

Brad believes those behind the theft may have been watching him. He said: “They must have known my routine. Someone has gone out of their way to steal it. They must have been watching me.”

Brad bought the bike for £1,000 back in 2020 and it’s theft has been a major setback for him. He said: “People work hard for stuff like that. Then there’s idiots robbing bikes, breaking into cars.

“Now I’ve got to get a new vehicle and fork out extra money on taxis. I just feel set back, the bills are going up, I’ve got a kid on the way, then you have someone that comes along and ruins it all. That’s what people who do this don’t realise.”

Staffordshire Police confirmed they were aware of the theft and are appealing for imformation.

A spokesman said: “We were called to an address near Ormonde Street in Fenton shortly after 6.20am on Wednesday, November 23.

“A Skyteam Pro Monkey motorcycle had been stolen from a car park. We believe this may have happened between 10pm on Tuesday and 3am yesterday.

“The bike is black and has a red gear shift.”
