FISH, CHIPS, CURRY SAUCE - AND THE WORLD CUP PLEASE!

Chippy shows games from Qatar

FOOTBALL fans won’t miss any of the action if they nip out for a chippy tea in Longton during the World Cup.

Because Sunni Sandhu has a TV in his shop showing all the action for customers waiting to get their hands on his food.

Sunni has been the manager at Fish Net on The Strand for 13 years. He comes from Birmingham but is a Stoke City supporter.

Sunni says the chippy has been around for at least 40 years. He said: “We’ll have all the World Cup matches on because we are football fans ourselves.

“Anyone can walk in off the street and watch it – as long as they buy food!

“We’ve got a lot of regular trade here, lots of older people, middle aged and we’ve seen kids grow up here now.

“We’ve been told we do the best chips and gravy in Stoke-on-trent. It’s the simple thing that people eat on the go.”
