Clouds

Emee Begum

When I was a child I had no idea how day and night worked. I thought, when it was night here it was night worldwide, and the same thing with the day. I thought cloud was made of cotton wool, and someday I would go there, and grab a piece of white, of the mysterious shapes I saw when I looked up at the sky. But when I was a child I also thought I would become a doctor, with all that strange equipment and a stethoscope round my neck and glasses on the end of my nose. And now I am grown up, I know it is impossible to grab that piece of cloud. And as for me becoming a doctor – the only thing lacking is my knowledge of all doctor subjects.
