Spiced orange whisky
Time to prepare: 10 mins Leave to infuse: at least a month
Peel from 1 unwaxed orange 8 cloves 1 cinnamon stick 3 star anise 500ml good quality Scotch whisky
1 Have a large, clean storage jar with a tight-seal lid ready. Peel the orange and place the peel, along with the spices, in the bottom of the jar.
2 Add the whisky, stir to submerge and mix. Seal the lid and store the jar in a cool, dark place for one month.
3 Taste after a month and, if happy, strain out the peel and spices, wash the jar and return the whisky to it or decant into clean bottles to give as gifts. For a stronger flavour, continue to infuse and test every few days. »
